Talent in the spotlight

ARMIDALE musicians have the opportunity to perform on the same set as touring artist Amber Lawrence next month.
Jason Owen was originally scheduled to perform with Lawrence at the Ex-Servcies Club on Saturday 3 May, but had to withdraw due to health reasons.
Lawrence said having a local perform on the night made the gig more personal.
“I love touring and performing live and when I get the chance I embrace new talent in areas in which I perform,” she said.
“I had opportunities provided to me by other well known country artists when I was starting out, so I guess I’m trying to ‘pay it forward’.”
All an aspiring musician has to do is record a song or video and send it via email or YouTube link to management@amberlawrence.com.au along with their contact details and they’ll be put in the mix for consideration.
Entries close on 29 April. The winner will be chosen on 30 April and immediately notified.
The winner will also receive a fee of $250 and get to showcase their talent with five songs, which can be either originals or covers or a mix of both.
There is no entry fee and entry is open to artists aged 15 years and above.
