HISTORICAL re-enactors will put their wares on public display for the first time in 20 years this Monday.
The New England Medieval Arts Society’s gathering on Easter Monday will be open to the public.
It is a rare opportunity to see, hear and participate in the “Dark Ages” in the stunning setting of the Armidale Pine Forest.
Over the the four days of Easter, around 400 visitors from all over Australia and New Zealand will gather to share skills, sell goods, engage in mock combats and other medieval activities.
For just a few hours on Monday the group will open the gates to the community.
Come as you are and wander through the New England Medieval Arts Society village and the authentic markets, see the long house, and watch the re-enactors in their camp sites and in battle.
This is a unique opportunity to see armour and weapons up close and to ask the questions you have always wanted to ask about swords, spears, suits of mail and other historically accurate recreations.
Gates open at 2pm and close at 5pm. Entry will be adult $15, children $7 and families $40.
