Kingscliff High girls excel at hockey

Three Kingscliff High students have been busy on the hockey field this season, making several representative teams.
The trio, Keely Murray, Brook Hawkey and Camille Sippel Charlton, may all still only be in Year Eight but they are already making their presence known at State and National level on the hockey field.
Camille is leading the way. The Pottsville youngster will head to Alice Springs shortly for the Australian Under-13 titles after making the Queensland team this year.
The talented young player plays centre forward for her club and striker for Queensland and is already playing in both the Under 13 girls and women’s competitions in the local Tweed Border competition and trains three days a week. She has been making representative teams since her days at Pottsville Public.
Keely Murray, also a product of Pottsville Primary, played in the under-15 Queensland  side this year, the 13s last year and was a shadow player for the 13s in 2009. She made state school girls teams in ‘08 and ‘09 while still at primary school and is playing for Casuarina in the Under 16s and women’s in the Tweed Border hockey competition.
Brooke Hawkey was a shadow team member this year after making the under 13 Queensland side. Again she is no stranger to representative sides, the centre forward made NSW school girls in Year 6. She currently plays under-16s at Casuarina.
