The first sod has been turned and the GP Super Clinic has moved a step closer to reality.
The super clinic is set to be located at Corporation Circuit, Tweed Heads South.
The successful applicants to deliver and run the GP Super Clinic, Ausjendia Pty Ltd are a group of well-known and respected local GPS.
“Locals asked for better health services before the last election and I’m pleased this service is closer to reality with today’s sod turning. The GP Super Clinic will deliver better access for health services in a single, convenient location,” Federal Member for Richmond Justine Elliot said after Friday’s ceremony.
“The clinic will include general practice, nurses, and allied health specialists. It will focus on training and education for medical, nursing and allied health students and will be a major site for GP registrar training.
“The GP Super Clinic has received strong community support. This service will help take the pressure off the very busy Tweed Hospital, it will deliver better local access to integrated health services, and it will provide construction jobs over the coming months.”
This $7 million in funding is part of the more than $1 billion that Justine has delivered for local roads, schools, health and community resources.
