Tweed Heads South gets new recruits

Tweed Heads South Preschool has some new friends – Dingle and Dangle the Scarecrows!
The children were concerned when they saw birds eating the seeds in the sunflower garden and vegetable patch. So, after brainstorming ideas on how to fix this problem, the children decided that making some scarecrows would be the best solution.
They used wood, nails and a saw to make the frame, a hessian bag for the head and stuffed some old clothes with straw for his body. Some gumboots and a ‘flippy floppy hat’ finished the scarecrows off.
The children hope that our gardens will now be safe from the birds over the school holidays.
Thank you to Ingrid Sheriff who donated the clothes for our scarecrows!
The Preschool children have also been involved in their Kindergarten Orientation Taster Days.
Every week the children have had wonderfully big smiles across their faces as they make their way over to big school to get to know their teachers. If you’d like your child to be a part of the fun, drop in and see us.
