The 2011 season is in full swing, with 250 Little Athletes participating on a regular basis each Saturday morning.
At present each member has the added incentive of running their fastest in order to be a part of a relay team to represent the Tweed Seagulls Club at the Regional Relay Championships to be held at Runaway Bay on Sunday, November 6.
The Tweed Centre will be fielding approximately 20 relay teams to compete in the 4x70m, 4x100m, 4x200m and Medley Relay events at the upcoming Carnival.
Athletes ranging from Under 7s right through to Under 17s will be participating against teams representing other Little Athletics Centres from Mullumbimby, Beaudesert, Mudgeeraba, Ash-more, Gold Coast, Helensvale and Runaway Bay.
The top three teams in each age group will progress through to the State Relay Finals to be held in Brisbane on Saturday,
December 10.
