We should all know by now that BRITISH INDIA isn’t a band that stays quiet for long. In the months since they wrapped up their epic three-month long, 26-date ‘March Into The Ocean’ Tour, the Melbourne lads have been busy in their newly built rehearsal studio penning the tunes that will eventually become their fourth album.
But in that time they must have developed cabin fever as they’re about to bust out and hit the road once more on their mischievously named ‘SHE PREFERS OLDER MEN’ TOUR.
Bringing with them a bevy of support acts from Australia’s gritty garage rock scene, British India will be out to turn stages, green rooms and hotel lobbies nationwide upside down with their rascally antics.
Getting a head start on the trashy vibe of this tour, British India frontman Declan Melia has already kicked off the carnage. Whilst attempting a kick-flip on his skateboard (presumably to impress some on-looking girls), Declan stacked it and broke his wrist and two fingers. As a result, he won’t be playing guitar on the forthcoming tour. But that’s no great loss, according to manager Glenn Goldsmith.
“Declan is still able to sing and he can’t really play the guitar anyway,” he said.
To coincide with the tour, British India will release their new track ‘She Prefers Older Men’, a live favourite from their previous tour, as a free ‘fans only’ download. The song will be exclusively available from the British India website for a limited time, and will not be available in any other format…ever!
