Arts Unlimited on display

For months the artisans at Tweed Unlimited Arts in Banora Point have been busy preparing their wares and now they are about to put them on display – just in time for Christmas.
Tweed Unlimited Arts is a group of artists of all ages, styles and types who come together each week to create.
The organisation is more than two decades old and gives people a chance to practise all sorts of handicrafts, from pottery to painting, spinning and weaving to tatting and lace making and everything in between.
Unlike their winter display, there will be no alpacas or outdoor firing at this event – it’s just too hot. But there will be a chance to see the quilters, lacemakers, painters and all the rest in action.
Taking centre stage this time will be the group’s potters who will be displaying their latest creations, putting on displays and even selling handmade bowls filled with a choice of summer salad.
This weekend, Saturday December 3 and Sunday December 4, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, will feature Devonshire Teas, demonstrations of wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery and painting and spinning. All Art and Craft will be for sale – just in time for Christmas.
Admission is free and the event will be held at the group’s headquarters off Pioneer Parade in Banora Point.
