Rain doesn’t dampen the Christmas spirit

Intermittent rain didn’t dampen the Christmas spirit at the annual Kingscliff Community Carols by Candlelight at Kingscliff last week.
Organised by the Kingscliff Lions Club with help from local musicians, the carols are a community tradition stretching back almost three decades.
And it seems that rain is a tradition of the event too (although it hasn’t rained every year – promise) but we’re hardy souls at Kingscliff and umbrellas were quickly pressed into action as a shower quickly passed over head.
Performers included children from all of the local schools as well as crowd favourites John Bennett and Mark Meeuwsen, Jean Stone, Michelle Cook, Peter Tanna, Andrea Szabo and, of course, stalwarts Paul Ensbey and Gillian Hayllar.
