Jan Kleeman (Letters 21/9/11), I am working from Pol 131 Regulatory – Sustainability Domestic Energy Use and Local Air Quality (Incorporating Local Approvals Policy for Solid Fuel Heaters) adopted by Council on June 7, 2010 (Min No 131/10), not the superceded policy from 2004 you are citing!
It was I who moved to review Pol 131 in the light of the issues raised by the installation of solar panels in heritage areas. We as a community need to develop a policy which addresses heritage AND sustainability. Council will hold a workshop to discuss these issues on October 4.
I would be happy to receive constructive feedback at any time to improve this policy, but especially before the October workshop.
