Funds raised for fire family

A benefit night will be held at the PCYC Tweed Heads on Friday, February 24 to aid to local families in need of a helping hand.
The Duroux family, a family with five kids, lost nearly all of their possessions in a house fire late last year.
The night is also to benefit long-term PCYC volunteer and stalwart of the Tweed Community, Max Kirkham.
Over the years Max has assisted the PCYC supervising discos, picking up kids from school in the mini-bus, assisting with markets and fundraising barbeques, and co-ordinating our Traffic Offender Intervention Program as well co-ordinating the Safety House program, Neighbourhood Watch and other community projects.
He is now suffering a health crisis and the community he has served so long and so well, wants to give something back.
The fundraiser will take the form of a dinner dance at the PCYC from 7-11pm. It will feature the music of the fabulous Toejammin’ swing band performing, plus comedy, curry and pasta buffet, licensed bar available, auction and more.
Cost is only $25 / head. Phone 5599 1714 to book tickets, Payment can be made at Tweed Heads PCYC.
