Volunteer help for the titles

Preparations continue for the NSW State Surf Life Saving Titles at Kingscliff next month with volunteers still needed.
“Yes we are still after more volunteers,” Cudgen Headland Surf Lifesaving Club president Adam Mills said.
“We had some come in last week but we still need more.”
Adam said the organising committee are also still keeping an eye on the erosion which is now gripping the area north of the Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club.
“The worse the erosion gets North of the Bowls Club the more likely that the boat competition will move to either South Fingal or Pottsville,” he said.
Plans are being finalised that will see the southern end of the beach near the creek wall used as the sprint track as it was last year and a water area for some of the younger age groups.
He said the Tweed Shire Council is fully supportive of the titles, Kingscliff’s second in a row, and has committed resources to assist with the preparation of the beach sprint track and upgrading the existing access tracks along Marine Parade.
“Since the carnival will be split between two areas we will need more volunteers than last year to cope with the changed conditions,” he said.
Anyone interested in volunteering can register at the club, ring on 02 6674 1573 and pass on their details or download some details and register their interest on the club’s website www.cudgenslsc.org.au.
