All across the Tweed Coast over the past week students have been getting their uniforms out of the cupboard and stocking up on supplies and returning to school.
Amongst the returning students have been lots of new faces with each of the local schools welcoming new comers to the area as well as the new kindergarten students to their ranks while all of last year’s Year Six students have embarked on a new school career at Kingscliff High School.
At some school’s including tiny Duranbah and Fingal there were a few new faces – five kindergarten students at Duranbah and 10 at Fingal while Pottsville Primary added 133 new kindergarten kids to their ranks and Kingscliff High School have eight classes of brand new Year Sevens.
Editor Tania Phillips took a drive up and down the Tweed Coast over the past week capturing those first few days at school for new students and even a few new teachers.
