The 20th anniversary of McHappy Day was celebrated at McDonalds in Armidale on Saturday with Fire and Rescue NSW, face painting, fun and games for the kids and a few local identities thrown in for good measure!
Armidale McDonalds Licensee Troy Johnson was thrilled to see so many people come along to support the event, especially from members of the community that donated their time for such a good cause.
“The people in Armidale have really come out to support McHappy Day, all buying Big Macs,” said Troy Johnson
“We have had some local celebrities, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Kevin Dupe from New England Mutual, so it is fantastic to see everyone in here.
“We usually raise between six to eight thousand dollars and Australia-wide, we are looking to raise over two million dollars.
“Armidale never ceases to amaze me for their continued support of Ronald McDonald House.
“You look at how many people have used Ronald McDonald House or have known someone who has, people are more than willing to put their hands in their pockets for a such a good cause.”
