Committed local Walcha Campdraft families have combined, to organise a weekend, for Under 8s and Under 21s, of campdrafting, sporting and Stock Horse events on Saturday and Sunday, November 26 and 27, 2011. A Junior rodeo will run on Saturday evening at 5.30pm. Entries received have excited organisers, with competitors coming from all over New South Wales to compete.
The committee has worked tirelessly in the months leading up to the event, organising Walcha’s Junior Rodeo and Campdraft at the local showground. For those involved in the Campdraft culture, this is a chance for competitors to accrue final points in the Australian Bushman’s Campdraft and Rodeo Association’s (ABCRA) point score for the 2011 competitive year.
The Walcha Pony Club has also lent support by donating their time to ensure the sporting events will operate professionally, with focus on fun and safe participation.
Generous support from Walcha, Armidale and Tamworth businesses has guaranteed competitors’ prizes such as bridles, breast plates, bronze sculptures and stallion service fees for placegetters. Horseland Armidale have kindly supported a majority of the events, including the Horsemanship Encouragement Class, run in conjunction with the Australian Stock Horse events operating on both days.
We would like to pay special tribute to our prize Stallion Service fee donors:
nJohn & Barb Lee (Jats Bar Radiums Coster)
nAllan Young (Acres Liberty Beau)
nMatt & Emma Oakley (Donrica Kewpe Doc)
nPete & Anna Stevenson (Acres Little Craftsman)
Troy Plamer (Impressive Destiny)
Luke & Melissa Clarke (Glen Lee Rivoli Tact)
All the abovementioned stallions are proven sires, with their provision offered to the junior campdrafters as a fantastic opportunity and accepted with much acclamation by the committee. A terrifric weekend of great sporting, drafting and rodeo is expected with entries still open for specific rodeo events up until 3.00pm Saturday.
