State Emergency Service digs deep for Wishing Tree

Anne Potts, who has been coordinator of the K-Mart Wishing Tree appeal for over 20 years, couldn’t be more delighted with the response so far from the Armidale community with over 450 gifts donated so far.
The members of the Armidale SES who already give so much to the community every year managed to find the time last week to pop into K-Mart to see firsthand the 25 presents that came from their donation for the Wishing Tree appeal.
Armidale SES Deputy Controller Dave Battese, along with his fellow SES volunteers, is delighted to be involved in such a great cause.
“Henry Potts, who has been working at K-Mart for many years, is one of our members and has over the years encouraged us to get involved,” said Dave Battese.
“All of us at the Armidale SES donated money and the wonderful staff here at K-Mart picked out the presents for us.”
Anne Potts is hopeful this year the Armidale K-Mart Wishing Tree appeal will reach the magic figure of 2000 presents which would be a huge achievement for the Armidale community.
