New set of wheels for Lifeline

A brand new Lifeline Truck, complete with colourful retro images on the side, is now cruising the streets of Armidale, helping to raise funds for the volunteer telephone counselling service Lifeline provides to vulnerable and at risk people.
The colourful theme of the truck fits with the new look Lifeline campaign “One of a Kind”, promoting the charity shops as a haven for vintage fashion and retro accessories complete with its own Facebook page.
Lifeline North West CEO Michael Ticehurst said the addition of a new truck to the Armidale area would not have been possible without the support of the Joblink Plus Community Donations Program.
“We received a great deal of support through Joblink’s Community Donations,” ‘ Mr Ticehurst said.
“We rely on our shops for 80 per cent of our income, the truck will help us to generate additional funds from the Armidale Shop in support of our volunteer telephone counselling service. After three years hiring a truck, this new truck will assist us greatly in picking up and delivering donated goods, helping the community in recycling goods, and reducing our carbon and environmental footprint,” he said.
Chairman of the Board of Joblink Plus John Treloar and Vice Chairman Alison Hamilton officially handed the truck over.
The Joblink Plus Community Donations Program provides assistance to charities and community groups. Last year alone $244,000 was donated as part of the program in the New England North West area.
