Toby Iavis loves to draw. What started out as sketches on scrap paper has now developed into a series of pen and ink, detailed drawings all from his imagination.
Toby is from the Island of Manna in Vanuatu and has spent the last three months in Armidale staying with a family friend. During his stay he has completed a series of around 25 drawings that have all been framed and will be in Centro this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday selling his artwork. Toby will also be at the Monthly Markets this Sunday in the Beardy Street Mall.
Toby, who is only 18 years old, loves to sketch and is hoping to make a career out of his drawing when he gets back to Vanuatu.
“I have always loved to draw, I like it when I see people who like my work,” said Toby.
“Some of them are from my imagination and some I reference from a picture.”
