Every child knows that Santa Claus is working overtime with his elves preparing presents for Christmas, but he is taking time out of his busy schedule to deliver an important message to all of the children in New South Wales.
Santa is reminding all children to write to him and address their letters correctly so they beat the Christmas rush on the way to the North Pole.
Australia Post has worked closely with Santa and his elves for many years to deliver mail to a secret location at the North Pole.
“Our posties have spoken to Santa, Mrs Claus, the elves and reindeer to work out the best way of delivering Santa’s mail to his secret workshop at the North Pole in time for Christmas,” Australia Post spokesperson, Mel Ward said.
Rudolph, Blitzen, Dancer, Dasher, Vixen, Doner, Prancer, Comet and Cupid have also been running around at Santa’s village in excitement ahead of their big trip to Australia on Christmas Eve!
“With around 120,000 Australian children expected to write to Santa this year, he will be up to his white beard and spectacles in letters and presents,” said Ms Ward.
“The best way for children to let Santa know what they want for Christmas is to get in early and write out their lists and address them to Santa, NORTH POLE, 9999,” said Ms Ward.
“To ensure you receive a response from Santa before Christmas, it is very important you include your return address on the back of a stamped envelope.”
Letters can be posted in any red street posting box or post office. Santa’s elves work very closely with Australia Post staff to ensure all of Santa’s mail reaches its destination.
“Each year I look forward to reading all of the letters I receive from children in Australia. Please send your letters to the North Pole now before 16 December, so that I have time to write back to you!” said Santa.
