Mitchell Murdock heads for Spain

Under 11s Kingscliff Wolves soccer player Mitchell Murdock loves his sport, which is just as well as he’s proving pretty successful at it.
Young Mitchell has just been selected in the Qld Futsal Academy Elite squad to tour the UK and Spain.
The talented young keeper was selected at the Qld Futsal Academy Elite Squad trials held over a number of weeks at Varsity Secondary College.
Mum Tania Murdock said the tour will see the group head to UK and Spain for training, matches and tournaments against other European Clubs for both Futsal and outdoor Football.
The tour will involve intensive training in both Football Futsal with professional development coaches from EPL (English Premier League) clubs. The tour is 14 days.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for young developing players to visit two of the biggest exponents of Futsal and Football in the world,” she said.
Mitchell has been playing soccer both indoor and outdoor with Kingscliff Soccer Club and Qld Futsal Academy for a number of years.
“Over this past summer season he also was selected and played in Representative Futsal for the Gold Coast where the Representative Team went on to win the Craig Foster Cup and the Grand Final,” she said.
The tour will leave in September and it can’t come soon enough for Mitchell, according to his mother.
“He absolutely loves Futsal and Football, and he is very keen to be involved in international competition at this age,” she said.
