Art Show at TAS

On Thursday evening The Art Show opens at the Hoskins Centre at The Armidale School (TAS) and runs through to Saturday, February 18.
This exhibition has been organised by the TAS Parents and Friends Association to celebrate the third anniversary of the Michael Hoskins Creative Arts Centre.
Paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures by a wide circle of talented artist friends of the TAS community, including noted local and regional artists, will be on display in the Hoskins Centre’s purpose-built foyer exhibition space. Stuart Boggs, David Mackay, Lucy McCann, James White and Francois Jaggi, are among the lineup of Armidale-based artists with works on show. Also among the 80, or so, pieces on display is an enchanting work by Benjamin Thorn constructed from well-used children’s’ blocks and a striking abstract figure in steel by Nancy Hunt.
“We’re very pleased with the support we’ve received from artists locally and from further afield,” says TAS parent Philippa Charley-Briggs, the event’s organiser.
“There’s something for everyone in this show.”
The exhibition is open late on Thursday and Friday so people can drop by after work and also all day Saturday.
All the artworks in the exhibition are for sale and funds raised will support creative arts programs at TAS.
The Art Show hours are 6-10 pm on Thursday February 16 with the opening ceremony at 6.45pm, 8.30am to 7pm on Friday, February 17 and 9am to 5pm on Saturday, 18 February. Parking is available in the TAS Chapel Street entrance car park.
