Hair-raising experience for students

Kingscliff TAFE Hairdressing section this week host the 2012 Hairdressing Extravaganza.
This year the Extravaganza, held on Tuesday night at the TAFE campus, changed to a new and exciting format. Students worked hard creating fantastic hair designs on mannequin heads which were then viewed at the Hair Extravaganza Night, similar to an art showing.
The hairdressing students were competing to win fabulous prizes, judged by industry experts.
The students had the option to upload their mannequin designs on TAFE’s Facebook page and the entry with the most likes wins a People’s Choice Award.
The event is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their extraordinary skills to friends, family, colleagues and industry representatives.
Kingscliff TAFE Hairdressing teacher Chris Edmeades said, “The courses offered at Kingscliff TAFE are very hands on and the students get a lot of practical experience. We have a salon at the campus that is open every day, so students get to work on real clients,” Chris Said.
