Legacy has no association with Legacy Marketing or its practices

Recent highly critical articles in the Sydney press have appeared regarding a company called Legacy Marketing.
We would like to clarify that Legacy, which has a proud 90-year history as a trusted and respected organisation that cares for the families of incapacitated and deceased veterans, has absolutely no association with Legacy Marketing or its practices. Sadly some people mistakenly believe this business has something to do with Legacy.
Legacy does not use any of the fundraising practices described in the article, such as professional door-to-door fundraisers, and never has.
Legacy is well represented in our area and we trust that your readers will continue to support Legacy as they have done so generously in the past. Legacy is dedicated to the welfare of widows and dependants of Australian Defence Force personnel killed in war, peacekeeping or hazardous service, or who have died subsequently.
Across Australia, Legacy assists more than 100,000 widows and 1900 children and people with a disability. In the New England area Legacy assists more than 450 widows and 15 children and people with a disability. We provide tailored welfare support for individual needs, which includes assistance with medical support, financial assistance, advocacy and education.
Legacy relies on the financial support of the community and that of their volunteers. These are those dedicated men and women who provide care and assistance to those for whom Legacy accepts responsibility.
Legacy stands ready to support the families of Australia’s 3000 men and women currently deployed on operations around the globe.
The organisation is committed to ensuring these families will receive assistance and care when a member of the Australian Defence Force, who has had operational service, is killed or incapacitated.
Legacy maintains a life-long commitment to serving Defence families as required.
Tens of thousands of ADF personnel have been deployed to Afghanistan over recent years, and Australia’s continuing commitment in the Middle East and various peace-keeping operations sees a growing demand for Legacy’s services well into the future.
