Riding for a cause

A group of riders from Tweed and Murwillumbah travelled to Coffs Harbour to join in the Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge on Sunday, August 5.
The riders were representing Murwillumbah Central Rotary and are part of a group of riders who raise funds for Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) each year, with a mountain bike ride in Tweed Shire.
On Sunday they rode in the Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge, a road tour event raising funds supporting the activities of the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour City.
The riders in the Coffs Coast event included an Australian Parliamentary Team, the members of which include Tony Abbott MHR, Federal Member for Warringah/Leader of the Opposition and Luke Hartsuyker MHR, Federal Member for the Coffs Coast seat of Cowper/Shadow Minister for Regional Communications.
The ROMAC Bike Bash will be held on March 9 and 10, 2013 and is a two-day medium to hard ride for mountain bike riders. Riders who feel they are up to the challenge may obtain more information by phoning Denis Hallworth 02 6677 9302 or Tony Worrad 07 5523 3553.
