Between Thursday, September 2 and Sunday, October 31, 2010, every $10 spent at Coles Supermarkets earned customers a Coles Sports for Schools voucher worth one point. Students collected vouchers from their families, friends and neighbours (and teachers!) and, with more than 7400 schools signing up to participate in the program, that’s a lot of sports gear to support our future sporting champions! After eight weeks, Sports for Schools voucher collection officially ended on Sunday, October 31, 2010.
Delivering $7 million of sporting equipment to your schools, school teachers around Australia will now have even more sports equipment and activity sets available to students to get them up and active!
Having counted a whopping 81,000 vouchers, School Learning Support officer Rhonda Johnston at Centaur School is happier than anyone to see the new equipment arrive. Assistant Principal of Technology and Sport, Steve Miller said, “A great school and community effort to raise the 81,000 tokens and a big thank you to Coles for supporting school sport. Centaur students will enjoy making good use of
the equipment.”
