Filling the coffers of the International Film Festival

Friends of the ABC (Armidale), held a movie fundraiser in March this year. The film chosen was Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy based on John Le Carre’s renowned book by the same name; and the International Film Festival was the recipient of a donation of $1075 (after expenses) from the proceeds.
The Armidale community rose to the occasion, as they always do; the Olympia at the Belgrave Cinema was sold out. Everyone enjoyed the movie and some returned for a second viewing.
The money will go to the IFF Committee in their endeavours to bring the best foreign films to Armidale.
In Launching the 9th Annual International Film Festival, the IFF will be showing two films on May 18: the Oscar winning The Artist and Senna, (award winning documentary on the Brazilian Formula One Racing driver). Cost $35.00. Refreshments will be provided.
Tickets are available from the front desk at NERAM or enquiries to Hilary on 6772 7257. The International Film Festival runs during the first weekend in August.
For you diaries: Friends of ABC are welcoming Kerry O’Brien to Armidale at the end of August. More details later.
