Jupiters Hotel and Casino will jazz things up this week with some of Australia’s leading jazz talent performing on Friday night as part of this year’s Broadbeach Jazz Festival.
James Morrison, Emma Pask, Liam Burrows, Grace Knight and David Campbell will all perform as part of Jupiters special Jazz with the Stars evening. Jupiters Hotel & Casinos Acting Managing Director, Craig Peachey, said the property was proud to support the local precinct event with a new and unique jazz experience.
“We are excited to be part of the Broadbeach Jazz Festival. It’s a natural fit for the property, as we continue to deliver the biggest international and national acts to the Gold Coast,” Mr Peachey said.
“The new $20 million redeveloped Jupiters Theatre has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from performers and guests, so we wanted to open it up and offer an all-encompassing jazz concert, the likes of which the Broadbeach Jazz Festivalhas not seen before.
“Jazz with the Stars will be a treat for true jazz fans and Jupiters will continue to appeal to all audiences with a diverse range of entertainment including upcoming concerts from Engelbert Humperdinck, Macy Gray and, of course, our stage show Jabbawockeez presents MÜS.I.C.”
James Morrison is synonymous with jazz, having performed in the world’s most famous jazz clubs and for some of the world’s most influential people, as well as having been awarded a medal of the Order of Australia for his service to the arts. The multi-instrumentalist Morrison will perform with Emma Pask who he has described as “the greatest gift to Australian jazz vocals in the last decade”. With accolades like that, it’s no surprise Emma Pask has won a Mo Award for “Jazz Vocalist of the Year”, performed at Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s wedding, and released three solo albums, just to name a few of her career highlights! Liam Burrows won the hearts of our nation on Australia’s Got Talent 2011, making it all the way to the Grand Final with his surprisingly mature voice and engaging personality.
His independently-released debut album, “All Of Me”, is testament to the fact he is well on his way to following in the footsteps of his personal idols Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.
Grace Knight shot to fame in the 1980s with Eurogliders and enjoyed an acting role in ABC TV mini-series “Come in Spinner” before going it alone and releasing several jazz solo albums.
David Campbell has established himself as one of the country’s biggest-selling recording artists, with all of his albums hitting the Top Ten and achieving platinum sales.
“Jazz with the Stars” will be the finest fusion of jazz headlined by James, Emma, Liam, Grace and David in Jupiters Theatre for the Broadbeach Jazz Festival.
