Politicians behaving badly

Like most people watching the news bulletins this week, I was appalled by the behaviour of our politicians. We the voting public want to see good policy debated and decisions made on our behalf with a long-term vision. I’m sure the Leader of the Opposition felt the removal of the Speaker was of the utmost importance but I can assure him no one else in voters’ land did and, whilst the media becomes very excited about the possibility of the Speaker being removed, most of us are not.
We witnessed a mad Tony Abbot, the Opposition Leader, accuse the government and Prime Minister of all sorts of things. It was as provocative as it was repetitive until it became just plain insulting, with the use of the phrase ‘die of shame’.
The Opposition Leader overstepped the mark with this one, connecting himself clearly with the shock Jock from Sydney Alan Jones. This shameful attempt to upset the Prime Minister clearly fired up Ms Gillard who proceeded to point out the long track record of Tony Abbot’s smear and dirty tactics and reinforce the view widely held that he should never be allowed to become Prime Minister.
