It was a day of colour, fun and fascinators as Tweed Coasters dressed up and went out to hotels, clubs and restaurants right across the coast to celebrate Melbourne Cup Day.
At Cabarita Beach Sports Club, the theme was yellow, white and black in spots and stripes, while the Sandbar at Casuarina played host to the Lindisfarne Melbourne Cup event. It was a sea of colour at the Saltbar and Kingscliff Beach Bowls Club. And everywhere there were people having fun.
And the fashions on the field weren’t just restricted to Flemington, with plenty of fashionable Coasters strutting their stuff and many of the local venues holding best hat and best dressed competitions, as well as hosting fashion parades.
