Bowlers blossomed at carnival

Dawn Fuller watches the progress of her bowl.

88 Bowlers from across NSW took part in the Armidale Women’s Bowling Club’s Spring Blossom Carnival over the weekend with the Sawtell Club taking the honours with four wins + 91 for the weekend. Armidale came in strongly in second place with four wins + 84.
The weather was clear but blustery and warm for most of the weekend with Sunday producing a few showers in the afternoon. Competition was strong from all the ladies but as usual played with great enthusiasm and friendship.
Dawn Fuller from the Armidale Women’s Bowling Club says that her club always looks forward to hosting a great competition.
“It was very windy which made it a bit difficult for the bowlers but we all persevered and still managed to have a good time,” said Dawn Fuller.
“We are the only club in Armidale that has this carnival and it is terrific to see so many ladies come from all over to play here and we hope it will continue in conjunction with the Armidale Ex-Services Club next year.”
The Armidale Women’s Bowling Club would like to thank their sponsors Community Mutual and David Hodgson Chemist as well as all the hard work from club members as well as the men who are a great support during the event.
