Level 4 Armidale City Gymnastics’ Emma Barnier dominated the NSW State Championships to easily bring home the gold.
Accompanied by her team-mates Emily McDonnell and Syrana Glenn, Emma dominated most apparatus, easily winning beam and vault, with 4th on floor and 5th on bars.
Her highest score was for beam, with a score on 14.75 out of 15, her highest yet.
A score of 14.5 out of 15 gave her the gold in vault. Vault is always very strong in the Armidale club. Whilst Emma came first in vault with a score of 14.5, her team-mate Syrana came 3rd in the State with a sore of 13.8 and another team-mate, Emily, came 5th in the State, with a score of 13.65. Their combined score made Armidale the NSW vault champion team in the State in vault.
Under the rules in NSW gymnastics having won the State title requires Emma to move up a level to level 5.
All three Armidale girls will now move to level 5 in preparation for the 2013 competition season.
