KINGSCLIFF’S Division 1 men’s team will head to Merimbula on the South Coast next month for the state titles following a successful season.
The club’s bowlers took out the zone final against Ballina late last month to win through to the final 16 in the state.
The team, who head south on 3 August, were almost joined by two other Kingscliff teams at the state finals.
Division 7 made it through to the zone finals but just failed to make it through, finishing second while the Division 4 team were runners up for the district pennant.
Meanwhile, with the team events out of the way the attention turns to the pairs, fours and triples zone one championships which will be held later this month. Kingscliff will be well represented in the competitions to be held at venues across the region.
On 7 July, Kingscliff’s Greg Barrack, Russell McLeay, Trevor Hills and Michael Turner will play in the open fours at Ocean Shores, while on 20 July Vic Lewis and Peter Murphy will play in the seniors pairs, and on 21 July Ken Banks, Greg Barrack and Ian Taylor line-up in the open triples.
