THE wind conditions played havoc with the goal shooters over the weekend. The teams who could tough it out now progress into the grand final to be played this weekend.
The results are:
Under 10s grand final – Banora Ospreys v Cudgen Cookies. Banora Ospreys 13 d Purple Hearts 12 – this is the little Kingscliff team who had to go through double extra time last week and pushed frontrunners Banora into extra time again to only be defeated by one goal in the dying minutes of extra time. Cudgen Cookies 26 d Kingscliff Twinkles 16.
Under 11s grand final – LAS Limespiders v Seagulls Panthers. LAS Limespiders 22 d Blue Moons 3. Seagulls Panthers 27 d Banora Amazons 14.
12A grandfinal – Seagulls Allstars v LAS Lethals. Seagulls Allstars 41 d Seagulls Diva Devilz 26. LAS Lethals 40 d Saints Lynx 25.
12B’s grand final – Terranora Toucans v LAS Lorikeets. Terranora Toucans 37 d Kingscliff Eclipse 6. LAS Lorikeets 30 d Saints Magic 7.
13s grand final – Seagulls Firebabes v LAS Lifesavers. Seagulls Firebabes 49 d Saints Jaguars 16. LAS Lifesavers 26 d Kingscliff Sunshines 25.
CADET A grand final – Banora Maggies v Cudgen Diamonds. Banora Maggies 39 d Terranora Taipans 23. Cudgen Diamonds 30 d Saints 0 (unfortunately Saints had to forfeit).
CADET B grand final – Cudgen Clowns v Cugen Chillies. Cudgen Clowns 29 d Banora Nigh Owls 17. Cudgen Chillies 65 d Cudgen Emeralds 32.
CADET C grand final – Saints Gems v Cudgen Rebels. Saints Gems 54 d Seagulls Dragonfilies 10. Cudgen Rebels 43 d LAS Lasers 17.
DIVISION 1 grand final – Cudgen Lightnings v Kingscliff Avatars. Cudgen Lightnings 30 d Sharpshooters 25. Kingscliff Avatars 34 d Saints Barracuders 28.
DIVISION 2 grand final – Saints Aztecs v Kingscliff Astrals. Saints Aztecs 32 d Cudgen Chargers 17. Kingscliff Astrals 41 d Cudgen Cows 24.
Best wishes to all teams competing in the grand finals, to be played at 1pm this Saturday with presentations to follow immediately after the games. All clubs are encouraged to have all their teams supported during the games and to remain after the game to celebrate the end of this great season. Bring along a drink and your esky to celebrate following the games (not during the games).
Our 10s and 11s Nicole Cusack Development Clinic commenced on Sunday with a great roll-up of participants and will continue of the next two weekends.
COMING EVENTS
21 August, general meeting at the clubhouse commencing from 7pm, all clubs are to be represented.
24 August, grand final day and presentation. All games will commence from 1pm.
31 August, working bee to clean up and get ready for the clubhouse and storeroom to be demolished. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
September, AGM to be held at South Tweed Sports Club from 6.30pm. All clubs are to be represented and nominations for executive and non-executive positions are now open. Nomination forms can be collected at the general meeting this Wednesday night or on the weekend and returned if possible prior to the AGM. A number of positions will be vacant on the board for the 2014 season and this is a great opportunity for you to assist in the running of our association.
27 September, Laura Geitz Clinic to be held at Arkinstall Park South Tweed Heads – registration and payment is to be made prior to the clinic via Laura’s website (www.laurageitz.com). Tweed Netball Association will be subsidising this clinic for all of our registered Tweed Netball Members ($40) to be reimbursed after the clinic has been held.
All pepresentative player nominations for 2014 (under-12’s through to opens) must be handed in by this weekend. Forms can be collected from the office and returned to the office with payment on Saturday.
