JOIN Kasey Chambers in her loungeroom – well almost.
She doesn’t have an album to promote (although she is back writing for the next one) but the road and the stage is calling.
Kasey, who has over the past decade or more become the queen of Australian country music, said it just felt like time to reconnect with her audience and bring some of her favourite people with her.
“It will be like a night in my lounge room – although I promise that I won’t be wearing my trackie dacks and my kids won’t be making noise in the background,” Kasey said.
She is hitting the road again doing weekends away to perform songs and hits from her entire back catalogue with very special friends Ashleigh Dallas, Harry Hookey and Bill Chambers.
In a two-hour show, audiences will be treated to the magic of Kasey’s hit songs from albums that have spanned the last decade combined with the sounds of two upcoming artists who are fast becoming names on the live scene, Ashleigh Dallas and Harry Hookey as well as Bill Chambers, the voice that has performed with Kasey since she was a child and taught her everything she knows about music.
“I am SO EXCITED to be back on the road again soon playing old songs and new ones from ’The Captain’ ’Barricades and Brickwalls’… all the way through to ’Little Bird’ ’Wreck and Ruin’ and everything in between,” Kasey said.
“It also gives me a chance to share the stage with three of the best artists in Australia… The man who taught me more about music than any other person in the world – my dad, Bill Chambers and my favourite new singer/songwriters Harry Hookey and Ashleigh Dallas”.
Hailing from country music royalty, Ashleigh Dallas is the grand daughter of renowned country musician, Rex Dallas and has been part of Kasey’s touring band for the past two years playing mandolin and fiddle. Ashleigh is gearing up to release her debut album and performs regularly around the Central Coast of NSW and in her home town of Tamworth.
Audiences have been blown away by Harry Hookey’s performances and he is fast becoming one of the most exciting acts to hit the live scene. Fresh out of the studio from recording his debut album with his band (comprising his two brothers on guitar and Nash Chambers on the drums) Harry gigs relentlessly around his home city of Melbourne and has performed gigs across the US and showcased at the Americana Festival.
