New dance school sends students to us

Industry Dance (ID) opened its doors with a bang in 2010 and are already starting to make waves in local entertainment circles.
The school’s RAD ballet students sat their grades and vocational exams with a one hundred per cent pass rate while the Advanced one students passed with one hundred per cent distinctions and marks of 84 per cent.
With so much success in 2010 how do they top it for 2011?
“Easy!” said studio principal Casey Tangye. “We have our ID Company off to the USA in December to perform at Disneyland and Universal Studios. Along with this, they get the added opportunity to dance at The Edge Performing Arts School in Hollywood.
“This is an amazing opportunity we can bring to our students. They are also performing in the upcoming ‘Battle of the Bands’ in the Tweed Shire to promote youth services.”
For 2011 ID is adding an exciting RED stream to their timetable. This gives students who are interested in dance for fun and fitness the opportunity to learn from the best while only studying one ballet class per week and adding other styles whilst still participating in studio activities and concert.
The BLACK stream is for the more serious dancer who wants to study ballet at an exam level along with other dance styles and have performance, eisteddfod, exam and concert opportunities. Due to high demand ID will be adding more Wiggle Giggle and Jiggle classes for pre-schoolers and a new Boys Tap and Acrobatics.
