Staring role in softball

ST Joseph’s Catholic Primary School softballer Ian Gordon has been competing in the NSW PSSA Softball Carnival in Camden, Sydney this week.
Ian, who attends the Tweed Heads-based school, was selected in the Catholic school’s Polding team (Northern NSW) to compete in the event.
The youngster has been playing softball with the Tweed District Softball Association, starting first with Teeball at age six and then moving on to softball.
He will return this week in time to start what will be a busy local season.
Tweed District Softball Association (TDSA) at the Piggabeen Sports complex, are currently running sign ons.
A new Saturday summer competition for T-ball, juniors and youth will begin on 12 October.
For the first time the TDSA will also host a mixed-social senior’s competition under lights on Tuesday nights from 14 October at the Piggabeen Sports complex.
