THE Cabarita Beach Bogangar community is rallying to help 20-year-old Max Lee and his family after the young man was injured in Greece earlier this month.
“Max had a tragic accident whilst travelling in Greece,” Lizzi Howard, one of the members of the Max Lee Fundraising Committee said.
“The accident resulted in a serious spinal injury and his family have had to rush to Athens to be by his side.
“When he is well enough, his family are faced with the enormous task of flying Max home.
“Additionally, his family are now faced with the ongoing expenses to modify their home to accommodate Max’s future needs.
“Any assistance, support and donations would be greatly appreciated.”
She said the community were rallying to raise money to aid the Lee family.
“The Lee family are a highly esteemed, well known and much-loved family in our community.”
They have already raised around $800 at a recent cake stall and there are plans for a mufti day at the local school, a girls lunch at the Cabarita Beach Sports club and a music concert at the Les Burger football ground. Donations have also started flowing into a credit union account set up by the committee.
