THE Foreshore Park at Cabarita Beach will come alive to the sounds, sights and sensations of the second annual Caba Carnivale from 1pm on Saturday afternoon.
The park, off Pandanus Avenue, will be filled with something for everyone with a free and extensive program for this year’s Carnivale.
Gareth Jones of Sound Synergy will get the party started as one of the opening acts on the main stage in front of the Beach Hotel.
At 1pm his drums sounds will fill the air and welcome the crowd to the beach beat.
Gareth is highly trained in African drumming and uses his skills in corporate team building, health and therapy programs, schools and all age groups from Day Care to University.
Another highlight will be the giant raffle offering $5000 worth of vouchers. The raffle will be drawn at 5.45pm. First prize is more than $2000 worth of vouchers for businesses in the local area. The foreshore will be divided into several zones. In the kid zone there is lots to do while dad watches the AFL grand final on the pub TV.
Many locally made products will be on sale in Exhibition Street and a Well Being zone has local practitioners displaying and demonstrating their talents with massage, hair styling, yoga, body painting, didgeridoo and hypnobirthing on offer.
The Creative Zone displays a range of locally created objets d’art and food is plentiful. Apart from local restaurants and cafes who are ready to serve you as usual, there are a variety of vegetarian and yummy food vans on site.
Come along. It opens at 1pm and finishes at 7pm. Plenty of parking underground in the new Woolworths store – access from Hastings Street – or ride your bike and bring the dog. Pet parade starts at 3.45pm and the fire twirling demonstration is at 6pm.
