Strikeforce Ensign arrest

A UKI man has been arrested on drug and firearms offences and is due to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on Thursday 14 October.
Police attached to the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command’s Strikeforce Ensign arrested the 26-year-old man on Friday.
About 2.15pm, police executed a search warrant on the man’s home in Smiths Creek Road, Uki.
They allegedly found 46 cannabis plants, a quantity of harvested leaf, 12 shotgun cartridges and a dismantled 12-gauge shotgun.
Police arrested the man and he was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.
He was charged with cultivating a prohibited plant, supplying a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited drug, possessing an unlicensed firearm and not keeping the firearm safe.
