SES put on dancing shoes

THIS year on Friday, 20 September, The Armidale-Dumaresq Unit of the NSW State Emergency Service will be hosting their inaugural Orange Ball.
On a daily basis volunteers from the Armidale- Dumaresq SES unit support the local area through being on-call and ready to respond to floods, storms and rescues. The unit has responded to around 150 requests for assistance over 2012/13.
In addition to this combat agency role, locally the Armidale-Dumaresq SES further supports the community at events, sports days and charity organisations.
“Orange Ball is a way for us to meet and engage with our community members outside our normal context … have a laugh and a great night out and say thanks for supporting us,” Local Controller Elaine Towner said.
All proceeds from the ball are in support of the work undertaken by the Armidale- Dumaresq SES unit.
The night promises to be a great night out with friends. Tickets are available at Armidale Ex Services Club (Servies) and include two course meal, all music and entertainment, wine at table on arrival and two drink vouchers.
New members are always welcome at Armidale-Dumaresq SES. To volunteer or for more information phone (02) 6776 4050. Interested residents can join this event on Facebook, search “Orange Ball 2013”.
