IT may still be several months to go but all the work and planning for the 2014 Tweed Valley Relay for Life is already well underway.
The Relay was officially launched at the Ivory Tavern recently with Tweed mayor Barry Longland and Federal Member for Richmond Justine Elliot both lending their support to the event to be held at Cudgen Leagues Club next year.
Hotelier Claud Mangifesta has been and is heavily involved with Cancer Council’s fund-raising over the past 20 years and is proudly on the 2014 Tweed Valley Relay Committee.
“We have set ourselves a target to raise $100,000 for the 2014 Relay and we are kicking off our fund-raising early to give us every opportunity to ensure or at least try to ensure that our target is met,” Mr Mangifesta says.
“We need the entire community to support us for this most prestigious and important community event and every cent helps in assisting Cancer Council’s fight to find a cure for this horrible disease that has or will in some way touch us all.”
