New England Bowls With Richie Clutterbuck
TODD Fuller is off to Belrose to contest the state finals in the champion of champion singles following his demolition of the opposition in the zone finals at Wee Waa over the weekend. In his semi-final he deposed of Alan Webb from Lighting Ridge 31-13 and then in the final he only allowed his opponent, Graham Spence 11 shots. This win gives Todd back to back zone champion of champion singles titles and this weekend he is joined by his dad, Steve, for the long trip to Lighting Ridge for the pairs finals Both players are in good form and we wish them well at the Ridge.
Spring triples carnival
THE Ex-Services spring triples carnival will be played this weekend with 14 teams taking to the carpet trying to take home a share of the $1800 prize money on offer. I have not seen the field however Paul Bullen assures me that players will have to be at their best to win all five matches. Vacancies still exist in the City club’s minor pairs on 12-13 October and here players will play for $3000 in prize money. It’s interesting to note that carnivals in New England offer some of the best prize money in the north and with the Glen Innes Carnival, City’s City for All Seasons pairs and Guyra’s December pairs and fours and their Top of the Range fours in January over $20,000 is on offer. So please support these events.

WITH most clubs holding their annual meetings it is imperative that all office bearers and contact numbers are forwarded to Mike Sherar to enable him to update his records. The district program will be completed as soon as all clubs advise me of their required dates for 2014.
I also need details from all clubs regarding their singles, pairs, triples and fours winners to enable me to update the bowler of the year points. Please let me know as soon as all events are finalised.
