POLICE from the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command and Elders from the Bundjalung people, who are the custodians of the land upon which Tweed Byron LAC is situated, have developed a Police and Community Committee Aboriginal Action Plan.
The plan seeks to achieve such things as improved safety in their community, improved communication and understanding between police and the Aboriginal Community, reduced involvement and safety of Aboriginal People in the Community Justice system, and Reducing Community harm.
After months of consultation Elders from the Bundjalung people and Superintendent Stuart Wilkins came together to to sign the PACC Aboriginal Action Plan at the Tweed Heads PCYC on Wednesday.
