This morning (18/5) on the ABC Breakfast show (approx 8.30am) the report from the Brisbane Inquiry was that the flood was not caused by a ‘dam release’ (the release of water stored in the Wivenhoe Dam) but accepted water could have been released earlier. Alarmingly, the inquiry suggested the early release of the water dangerously reaching the top would have contributed more to the ‘Ipswich flooding event’.
Are we seeing the Bligh government-inspired 12-month Inquiry costing $10 million — a whitewash in the light of 15,000 homes in Brisbane inundated?
