The Dingoes live back in the early ’70s were unforgettable, and are arguably one of the greatest bands Australia has ever produced; and now they are back.
The band has a new Live CD and will be out and about doing the festival circuit, including At That Time. The band was different from any other; talented musicians determined to travel their own road. They were true innovators and had a huge influence on the many bands that followed.
Their 2009 induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame was the catalyst for a reunion, essentially to record their fourth and final studio album (some thirty years after its predecessor!) and a string of shows across Australia in August of last year.
Beyond the recording, they had always remained the band with a truly memorable, if not legendary, reputation for their live performances.
Old songs and new thundered out from musicians who had
only improved with age, and this is exactly what you will hear
on the new CD ‘The Dingoes Live At Last’.
Brod Smith, Kerryn Tolhurst, Chris Stockley and John Bois, ably supported by an embellished line-up that included Ashley Davies, Chris Copping and Kevin Bennett, were recorded for a live CD release at The Norwood Hotel and Northcote Social Club on that tour in August of 2010.
Now they’re back!
And the proof is in the pudding – this specially priced double CD set ‘Live At Last’ features pretty much every classic Dingoes track you could think of, alongside a healthy list of songs from the most recently recorded Tracks album.
And if this isn’t final proof of The Dingoes’ greatness, then what is? It’s right there for you to witness, marvel at, and enjoy now and for always.
The Dingoes are embarking on another national tour to celebrate this live release, and that will be the end.
They have agreed that, after this, there will be no more Dingoes.
They’ll have nothing more to prove.
