THE New England Nomads kick off their Tamworth AFL premiership defence when they travel to Narrabri on Saturday to tackle the Eagles.
The Nomads have a new coach in Zac Economou in 2014.
Meanwhile, the Northern Inland Premier League resumes from a two-week break.
South Armidale hosts Moree at the Sportsground, East Armidale travels to play the Gunnedah Hawks, Norths United are in Tamworth to play North Companions, while Demon Knights play Narrabri/Wee Waa at Rologas.
The Armidale District Netball Association also resumes from its Easter/Anzac break.
St Kilda Cougars play the Ravens at noon, PLC and NEGS to battle at 1.20pm and NEM Pulse play Impies at 2.40pm.
