Long standing TAS teacher Ian Lloyd has been appointed Head of the TAS Junior School.
Originally from Sydney, Ian’s foundation in primary school education began at Armidale Teachers’ College and then the University of New England. He commenced teaching at TAS in 1981 and completed fifteen years in the Junior School before changing roles to Sportsmaster, thence to Middle School teacher and Middle School Boarding Housemaster.
Ian has taught from Transition through to Year 8 and he feels fortunate to have found a vocation which he genuinely enjoys.
“I have been with TAS for many years but now renewing my association with the Junior School brings with it a sense of real anticipation and excitement,” said Ian.
“I believe that a strong connection between the home and school is fundamental to a successful education.
“It provides a platform from which we can encourage our children towards the goal of reaching their social, emotional and academic potential. Learning is a process. Nurturing the individual, their self-belief and their capacity to make sound, well informed decisions, is a life-long undertaking.”
