Emergency support in place for crews

PROCEDURES are in place to help police officers who attended the scene of Wednesday’s fatal cash, Armidale Inspector Chris McKinnon says.
Emergency services crews were shocked when a two-month-old baby was killed in a crash on Uralla Road.
“These situations can be quite difficult for officers and other emergency services workers and we have procedures in place to deal with that,” Inspector McKinnon said.
“What we do is refer those police who attended the scene to a counselling service, which then contacts the relevant officers.
“They can then chose whether they need any support.”
Inspector McKinnon described Wednesday’s fatal crash as a “tragedy”.
