POLICE officers from across the New England Local Area Command gathered in Guyra for National Police Remembrance Day last Friday 27 October.
Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall was in attendance and paid special tribute to fallen officers’ selfless sacrifice and courage.
“It was a solemn ceremony and it is important that we always remember and honour those who have died in the line of duty,” Mr Marshall said.
“For families, colleagues and friends it’s a difficult day. It’s a reminder to all in the community the inherent dangers of policing and the challenges they face on a daily basis.”
Since 1862, 252 NSW Police officers have died in the line of duty.
