Chanson in hot form

TINTINHULL trainer Barry Hobson continued his good run at Armidale when his greyhound flew the boxes to score on Saturday.
Chanson scorched the track from box eight to win the McDonald’s Appreciation Stakes Grade 4/5 event over 365 metres.
The $1.80 favourite stopped the clock at 20.94 on a rain-affected track after heavy falls on Friday.
Chanson has now won three races in a row after winning at Gunnedah on 9 November and Armidale on 19 October.
A dog that usually holds his form, Chanson was won consecutive races four times in his 22-start career, which boasts 11 wins and five placings for prizemoney of $4440.
Earlier in the program, Yo Cool Maxie appreciated the drop in class to win the Barry Mitchell Stakes Grade 3/4 event over 365m.
Trained at Moonbi by Barry Evans, the 82-start veteran came to Armidale after mixed form in TAB events in Maitland and Newcastle and registered his 20th career win.
The $2.20 favourite, Yo Cool Maxie jumped cleanly from box two and produced sharp sectionals to win by almost seven lengths in a time of 20.76.
The club’s next meeting is on 14 December.
